For this Women’s Month, we’re proud to feature these four remarkable women from four different countries: Thuy Nguyen from ASW Vietnam, Som-Chutiya Jeivisarn from ASW Thailand, Lovely Camino from ASW Philippines, and Ainnur Syazleen Mohamad Yusof from ASW Malaysia. From blazing trails and winning medals to raising the bar and achieving work-life balance, their inspiring stories reflect the strength, passion, and determination that define true success.

1. Hi! Could you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at ASW?

Thuy: I’m a Software Engineer at ASW, working on the EML project with the ACE team for more than a year.

Som: My name is Chutiya, but you can call me Som. I’m currently the HRBP at AS White Global Thailand and ASW Consulting. My role is all about providing high-quality operational support to our Thailand office.

Lovely: I’m the Operations Assistant for one of our client partners at ASW. I’ve worked across several industries in the BPO sector, providing me with a wide range of skills which I’m now able to share with ASW in my current role.

Ainnur: I’m Ainnur Syazleen, and I’ve been with ASW for 6 years as a Data Entry Agent. It’s been an incredible experience and I’m proud to be part of such a great team.

2. Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing? What are your hobbies and interests?

Thuy: I like listening to music, playing the guitar, reading books, learning languages, and programming. Music is a huge part of my life—I can’t imagine living without it.

Som: I love listening to podcasts, especially ones about history—like “People You May Know”—or inspiring content like “Mission To The Moon.” They help me gain new perspectives and keep me motivated to grow both personally and professionally.

Lovely: I’m passionate about outdoor activities such as freediving, trail running, and fun runs. I joined a local dragon boat club, where I train on weekends. On weekdays, I enjoy short runs and strength training to maintain my fitness.

Ainnur: Outside of work, I’m a mom of one wonderful daughter, with a second one on the way soon! I love spending quality time with my family. I also enjoy swimming and watching Korean dramas.

3. March is International Women’s Month. Can you tell us about a woman who inspires you? What have you learned from her?

Som: One of the women who truly inspires me is Michelle Obama. As the first woman of color to become First Lady of the United States, she used her platform to champion critical causes like health, education, and opportunities for young girls worldwide. Her leadership, resilience, and advocacy for inclusivity are qualities I deeply admire.

Lovely: Growing up, I witnessed my mom’s incredible ability to manage multiple responsibilities, from running a sari-sari store to overseeing a boarding house, all while ensuring our family’s needs were met. My mom has taught me the importance of persevering through tough times and prioritizing the well-being of those you love.

Ainnur: My one and only beautiful mother. She taught me a lot of things and treating others with kindness and respect, no matter the situation. She always encouraged me to follow my passions, take risks, and not be afraid of failure. Her unwavering belief in me, even when I doubted myself, has been one of the most important factors in my success.

Thuy: That person would be my mom. No matter what I wanted to pursue, she encouraged me to go after it. The most valuable lesson I learned from her is to always try my best and never give up. She also showed me the importance of believing in myself and staying positive, even when things get tough.

4. (For Thuy) Congratulations on being recognized as one of ASW’s Culture Champs. How do you promote the value of Teamwork?

Absolutely Super Women of Perseverance and Purpose, ASW Global

Thuy: I listen to everyone’s opinions, encourage knowledge sharing, and support my teammates whenever they need help. I also believe that teamwork thrives when people feel valued, so I always acknowledge and appreciate my colleagues’ contributions. I’d like to thank my amazing team and everyone at ASW. Their collaboration and support make teamwork not just a value but a daily practice!

(For Som) As part of ASW Thailand’s growing team, how do you deal with challenges at work and what keeps you motivated?

Absolutely Super Women of Perseverance and Purpose, ASW Global

Som: Growth and change are constant, and challenges come with the journey. I believe in embracing these challenges as opportunities to learn and improve. I strive to support my colleagues and work collaboratively to find solutions. I also believe in continuous improvement, pushing myself to grow every day, whether it’s learning a new skill, refining processes, or finding ways to create a better experience for our teams.

(For Lovely) Congratulations on being a gold medallist in your recent dragon boat competition? What does it mean to represent your country in this sport?

Absolutely Super Women of Perseverance and Purpose, ASW Global

Lovely: Being part of the Philippine team that won 1st overall at the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships is an incredibly proud achievement. Even at my 40s, I never thought I’d have the chance to compete at such a high level in a sport I’ve chosen to continue as long as I can. I’m extremely grateful for the support I’ve received from everyone at ASW, particularly my Manager Matz Buenaobra, Line Manager James Gregory, and my colleagues. Their encouragement and belief in me played a significant role in making this possible.

(For Ainnur) Congratulations on your 5-year loyalty award! What keeps you motivated at work?

Absolutely Super Women of Perseverance and Purpose, ASW Global

Ainnur: Reaching the 5-year mark is a meaningful milestone for me. What truly keeps me motivated at work is the positive environment and the incredible colleagues I have. Our team is truly the best, and the memories we share make everything fun. I feel fortunate to have such a supportive team leader Jazli and OM Mau. Their guidance, encouragement, and trust in me make me strive to do my best.

5. What achievement are you most proud of in your personal or professional life?

Som: I was honoured to represent ASW at the Labor Relations Principal Session from February 5–7, 2025. The session reminded me to be grateful for where I am today and to appreciate the incredible culture that our company fosters—one that values people, diversity, growth, and continuous learning.

Lovely: Juggling work and my dragon boat training has taught me invaluable lessons in time management, perseverance, and dedication. On a personal level, I’m proud to have been able to support my family financially, while also being able to provide for myself and achieve the things I want to do. This has given me a strong sense of fulfillment and purpose.

Ainnur: As a mom of one (soon to be two), it’s hasn’t been easy to juggle work and family life, but I’ve managed to stay in my role as a DEA at ASW over the past 6 years. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be able to pursue my career goals while also being present for my children.

Thuy: Being a woman in software development comes with its challenges due to the pressures of the industry. But I believe that everyone has their own unique strengths, and when we recognize and utilize them effectively, they become our greatest advantage. Don’t be afraid to take that first step!
