Eve Winn: Security with a Dash of Sabai Sabai

1. Hi! Please introduce yourself. What is your current role and what are your responsibilities?

Hello! I’m Eve, the Security Governance Manager based in Thailand. My main role is to ensure that ASW’s security controls and Information Security Management System (ISMS) requirements are effectively established, implemented, and maintained across the organization.

2. Can you briefly share with us your career journey and how it has led you to join ASW Global?

It honestly felt like destiny! I was first interviewed for a position that was fully embedded with one of ASW’s clients. And here I am now, working fully at ASW.

3. What do you enjoy most about your role as a Security Governance Manager?

What excites me most is striking the right balance between strong security controls and the dynamic needs of the business. I also genuinely enjoy working with such talented and inspiring colleagues across all our offices. I feel truly lucky to be here.

4. Which projects are you most proud of during your time at ASW?

Although I’ve been with ASW for less than a year, I’m proud to be part of the team driving improvements in our IT security, especially our progress toward achieving compliance with the ISMS standard.

5. Maintaining top-notch security can be challenging. How do you manage high-pressure situations at work?

I truly believe in teamwork. We’re not meant to do everything alone. Alongside a clear understanding of your role, open and honest communication is key to handling any high-pressure situations.

6. How do you maintain work-life balance? What are your favourite hobbies/personal interests?

Being a mom while pursuing my dream job in security isn’t always easy, but I try to manage my time between work, family, and myself. I’m especially grateful to ASW — and to Joe Fussell (ASW CEO) — for supporting me in both my professional and personal roles. I’m also a big dog lover, so I spend weekends volunteering to help rescue dogs and cats and find them their forever homes.

7. What valuable lessons have helped define who you are and how you approach your career?

I’ve learned that consistency and integrity are essential. In my role, it’s not just about enforcing controls. It’s about earning trust through accountability and alignment with policy. Growing up in Thailand, I was deeply influenced by the value of generosity of spirit, which continues to guide me in staying collaborative, approachable, and people-focused, even in complex compliance environments.

8. What Thai cultural values do you think your international colleagues would benefit from understanding?

I’m from the land of smiles, spice, and sabai sabai (the feeling of being very relaxed or comfortable). Our food is so spicy it might trigger an existential crisis! Our culture is rich enough for a Netflix series and our people are so friendly that you’ll have five new aunties before finishing your Pad Thai!

9. Who has played the biggest role in your personal or professional development?

Personally, my greatest inspiration is my son. He reminds me every day to grow, stay grounded, and lead by example. Professionally, my Belgian mentor — whose identity I prefer to keep private — introduced me to the world of information security and played a key role in shaping both my career and perspective on people. His kindness, guidance, and trust gave me the confidence to pursue this field with purpose and curiosity.

10. What advice or encouraging words would you like to offer to your fellow ASW Global colleagues?

In a world of brilliant minds and constantly evolving technology, don’t forget what truly matters, you and your loved ones. Be kind to yourself, stay grounded, live — and love — fully.
