As the bolero tunes once more against the spring breeze, Vietnamese people amble their steps into the biggest holiday of the year: Tet also known as the Lunar New Year. I have had the chance to talk with many local people and it is the norm that any Vietnamese can confidently update me with a traditional Tet holidays full of festivities and delicacies. However, my five years in this beautiful tropical country also lurk a unique, breathtaking Tet experience in Saigon, where ASW calls home to three offices. Tet marks the start of a New Lunar Year (Feb 8 2016) and often finds its way to indulge into a week-long, family-oriented holiday. The people of Saigon celebrate Tet with theme flower festivals and parks full of traditional games like fish fighting, crickets fighting, tropical fruits showdowns. Vietnamese ladies never miss this chance to dress in traditional “ao dai”, mainly in red or other bright colours as they signify luck and happiness. Saigon will truly immerse you in the spirit for a very big Happy New Year.
