I always take pride in our tradition of volunteering and community activities. We have proved that at ASW we are not only dedicated in our projects but also enthusiastic about contributing to the community development. The Trade Union and its Committee have played excellent roles in bridging ASW staff and underprivileged communities together. Most recently, ASW staff visited a community class for underprivileged children in Binh Duong Province, Vietnam. As a satellite town of Ho Chi Minh city, Binh Duong has witnessed many development plans but these also put some groups of people in adversities adapting to the urban pace of life. We target and support this class because education is clearly the key in helping them get a better start for their awaiting future. Staff members from across our three offices, both Vietnamese and expatriates, brought many gifts to a Saturday night class. The students were very outgoing and buoyant. We had a great time talking and playing games as well as taking many beautiful photos. I believe visits like these, encourages the students to study hard and helps to overcome their difficulties so they can get the best shot at a better life.
