Payroll Officer in HCM

Job Description:

Key Responsibility – End to End Payroll (50%)

  • End to end preparation and processing of payroll both fortnightly (retail) and monthly (HO) staff
  • Payroll system management of TimeTarget (time and attendance) and Sage Micropay (payroll system)
  • Onboarding new employees into TimeTarget, Sage Micropay and ESP as well as maintenance of employee file
  • Working closely with HR in raising new employee contracts for retail and HO employees
  • First point of contact for all payroll related queries

Key Responsibility – Statutory Lodgements (15%)

  • Ensuring statutory lodgements are completed in an accurate and timely manner including: PAYG, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, Superannuation, PAYE/KIWI (NZ)
  • Payroll Year End reconciliation and Payment Summary’s distributed in a timely manner

Key Responsibility – Month End & Reporting (15%)

  • Timely processing (day 3) month end actual or accrual journals for wages, payroll tax, provisions, bonus and any other payroll related journals
  • Timely and clear balance sheet reconciliations
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly wage reporting and analysis for budget variance, employee KPIs and rostering enhancements

Key Responsibility – Adhoc (15-20%)

  • Preparing bonuses calculations and clothing allowance for staff
  • Calculating and processing any terminations/resignations
  • Payroll tax rebate
  • Assistance with yearly audit process
  • Improvement of payroll process
  • Other projects as required by the finance team

 

Job Requirements:

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Comfortable with processing end to end payroll for 300+ employees
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel as well as other Office programs
  • Highly action orientated and motivated, displaying a strong sense of urgency
  • Exhibit problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a proactive and energetic approach
  • Commitment to honesty, integrity and quality with a high work ethic
