Team Vantage Strata: Fuelled by Connection, Collaboration, & Caffeine
Working remotely presents unique challenges, especially if you’re managing properties. Time and again, the Vantage Strata team from ASW Malaysia are able to turn these challenges into opportunities for success. Here are insights from five representatives of the 18-strong (and growing!) team — proof that there is “unity in diversity.”

1. Hi! Please introduce yourselves and your role in ASW.
Nadz: My name is Nadzirah, more commonly known as Nadz. I am the lead in Vantage Strata, Kuala Lumpur team, overseeing 17 talented individuals. Our strong sense of teamwork allows us to learn from diverse perspectives and continuously innovate, which is crucial in my role as a General Manager.
Azfar: I’m Azfar Rahmat, Strata Manager at Vantage Strata.
Lina: Hi, I’m Lina. I’m the admin support in the team. I handle the admin inboxes and mainly document transactions when the unit property has been bought. It includes liaisons between lawyers, new owners, and the internal team (credit control).
Yanie: I’m Yanie Annal, Strata Manager at Vantage Strata.
Simon: I’m Simon Anthony, Strata Manager at Vantage Strata.
2. How does your team stay motivated?
Nadz: We work from home four days a week and work in the office every Tuesday. That’s when we unwind and talk about all the challenges we face for the whole week. We catch up regularly on Tuesday, just to make sure that the team does not have any struggles that I am unaware of.
Yanie: Staying motivated is easy when you’re surrounded by a team that’s passionate about what they do. We fuel our motivation with a healthy dose of caffeine, connect, and collab. Plus, knowing that our work is contributing to ASW’s success is a constant source of inspiration.
Simon: We are pretty much from the same background which is property management in Malaysia. We share the same passion and experience even though our skill sets may differ. We have our indoor and outdoor activities together, which creates a very strong bond among the team.
3. What challenges do you encounter as a team and how do you resolve them?
Nadz: In Vantage Strata KL team, there are multiple departments: admin, finance, strata management, and also maintenance. Our struggles are understanding what each person is responsible for and what their daily tasks are. The way we overcome it is by fully utilizing the systems provided like MS Teams. We are able to connect regularly and talk daily to ensure that we are up to date and that we are able to provide full support to our clients in Canberra.
Azfar: Managing our clients’ expectations and working remotely. We overcome this by brainstorming for the best approach and maintaining clear communication between us and the client. With a clear direction, all things can be managed.
Simon: One of our day-to-day challenges is managing a property remotely which you don’t actually see, feel, smell, and touch. However, our team overcomes the situation by sharing our knowledge and experiences in brainstorming sessions.
4. Can you share a recent success story or achievement from your team?
Nadz: The team grew from 5 people at the beginning of January 2023 to 18 people in total and is planning to grow further in the future.
Yanie: One of our biggest wins has been maintaining long-standing relationships with our client. Their continued trust and satisfaction are a testament to the quality of our work and our dedication to meeting their needs. We’re proud to be able to help them achieve their goals.
5. Would you like to share any advice/inspirational words with your fellow ASW colleagues?
Nadz: Cherish the Journey. Success is not just about the destination, but also about the journey. Enjoy the process, learn from your experiences, and appreciate the progress you’re making along the way.
Azfar: Nothing’s impossible when we work together. Be upfront and enjoy your work.
Lina: We shall celebrate each other’s strength to grow together!
Yanie: To all my fellow ASW colleagues, remember, every small step we take contributes to our collective success. Together, we can achieve great things and make a lasting impact. Together, we’re stronger!
Simon: We always work as a team towards one goal and that is to achieve excellent results for the mutual benefit of our company ASW.
