Thanesh Saishoo: A Pioneer Who Inspires Progress

In 2024, ASW Malaysia honoured their very first batch of 10-Year Loyalty awardees. We take great pride in recognising Thanesh as part of this elite group. Discover what drives him in his professional journey, his inspiring mantra for success, and the Malaysian trait that’s a positive influence in the workplace.
1. Hi! Please introduce yourself. What is your role and your responsibilities at ASW?
My name is Thanesh Saishoo. I’m the Service Delivery Manager at EML Technology. My responsibilities include overseeing service desk operations to ensure that services are delivered to clients according to agreed-upon standards and expectations. I track and report on service delivery performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and quickly resolve any issues to maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
I also work closely with other departments and teams to address any cross-functional challenges and continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
2. What was your career like before joining ASW? What motivated you to join ASW?
It was exciting, I’ve spent 8 years in my previous employment, started as Service Desk Senior then promoted as Lead and Service Desk Manager. Like ASW, I was one of the pioneers hired when the company was established in Malaysia, helping to build the team from the ground up. But the company was acquired several times over the period. Job security was my major motivation to move to ASW.
3. Congratulations on being among the first in ASW Malaysia to receive the 10-year Loyalty Award! What contributions/achievements are you most proud of during your decade-long tenure?
I applied IT Service Management best practices across both EML and ASW, achieved a positive customer experience for both internal stakeholders and end users, introduced Service Level Management to gauge, monitor, and improve service delivery, implemented a fair and transparent performance management mechanism, and cultivated growth by introducing new roles and promoting team members.
4. Reflecting on your 10-year journey, what has inspired your dedication and commitment to your work?
Autonomy, trust, flexibility, people, and evolving technology are what drives me to stay on. The working hours, too. Hybrid work allows me to manage both my personal and professional responsibilities.
Each challenge that I face presents a new learning experience for me. The journey of self-improvement and professional development is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that my work has a positive impact on others has been a significant source of motivation. Seeing the real benefits of my efforts reinforces my commitment.
5. As a leader in your field, how do you motivate your team?
I lead by example where applicable to maintain a positive work environment. I clearly communicate with the team so they’re aware on what is expected, then monitor and reward when appropriate.
6. Is there a personal goal that you would like to accomplish?
Improve personal branding and acquire new skills in the AI and Automation field.
7. Who is the biggest influence in your life and why?
My father. He keeps me in check and inspires me in all aspects.
8. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? What are your hobbies?
I like spending time with my family, watching movies and outdoor activities.
9. If you could bring one aspect of Malaysian culture into the global workplace, what would it be?
Malaysians are known for their politeness and good manners. Encouraging a culture of respect and courteous communication in the workplace can lead to more harmonious interactions.
10. What words of advice or encouragement would you give to your fellow ASW colleagues?
Stay focused and be humble. Embrace new challenges and continuously seek to reach greater heights. “Blank canvas, make it happen” is a statement I have held onto sincerely since my interview session. I’m grateful for the opportunity, happy to be part of the ASW family, and proud to witness our growth from an initial 5 to over 400+ headcounts.
