Celebrating Achievements Amidst Challenges
A Special ASW Milestone
Last August, ASW celebrated its 10th anniversary since opening its first office doors in Ho Chi Minh, with a modest staff of 10 members in 2011. Fast forward to 2021, we are now approaching 1,200 staff, operating in over three countries abroad, and growing at our fastest rate thus far. Many of the original staff who started in 2011 are still here and it’s wonderful to hear their stories from where they started to where they are now, both personally and professionally.
It’s unfortunate that the pandemic has not allowed us to celebrate our 10th birthday the way we would have hoped. Instead, we have allocated the funds to each of the staff to spend on themselves and their families as a token of our appreciation and to acknowledge their efforts amidst the current climate. The ASW staff love to party, and no doubt the eventual celebration will be heightened with the anticipation and excitement of everyone getting back together in person.
From the dedication of our teams to our successful partnerships with our clients, we are humbled and truly grateful for being so important to us over our journey.
Support for Vietnam
Recently, ASW teamed up with our Vietnam client partners to donate for the Rice for Life campaign. It provides essential support to those most in need, many of whom ‘work today to eat tonight.’ We’d like to give special thanks to the following clients: EML, Koda Capital, Cleanaway, Crofts Accounting, Tempus Wealth, Unity Funds, Keeping Company, Allan Hall, Steadfast, and Rothbury. Collectively with ASW, they have contributed more than $60,000 AUD – equal to 73 tonnes of rice — for the most desperate civilians in Ho Chi Minh.
ASW relaunched our English classes with over 70 staff enrolling in the first intake. These classes provide opportunities for the staff to improve their soft skills and our clients the scope to broaden their talent pool. The program positions ASW as an employer of choice for candidates looking for additional support to further their personal development.
With the easing up of restrictions, we are hoping for the country’s rapid recovery and the continued safety of our staff.
Optimistic for the Philippines
ASW has successfully secured vaccination for our staff and an additional dose for a family dependent. The first batch of these doses have finally arrived via the Philippine government, and we have begun distributing these throughout the teams. All eligible employees were encouraged to register and avail of the free vaccination. This is in line with our efforts to ensure the safety of our ASW staff during the pandemic. Good job, ASW!
